Pardon my ignorance but... - fox2630 - 11-29-2009

I'm really sorry to bother you guys but I need help with a few things concerning the dolphin emulator. Thing is, I'm new, stupid, and don't know what from what. I recently downloaded the 4525 version for the 64bit version of windows and need help playing a few games. I tried running Mario Baseball, however the sound is completely f***** up. It sounds like your right next to a construction site literally. It's very loud, disturbing and you cant hear anything but a jackhammer running in the background. Also, it runs pretty much full speed, but when I get into a game, everything is fine and dandy except for some of the player models; some characters look like crack skinny gumby models stretched out in all the wrong places. I've heard people be able to run this game 100% fine, yet I don't know which version of dolphin to use and which plugins. I'm running everything default, although I tried to switch the sound plugin HLE to LLE and the game just wont load.

Also, I don't think I can run any wii games. I have Mario Strikers Charged (USA); however, when I try to run it I get two errors: 1. Can not init any wiimote plugins. 2. Couldn't init the core. Check your configuration. I can also get the PAL version if that'll help.

I understand you optimally need to connect a wiimote and heard you need bluetooth, I just dont have one yet but will order it soon. I can still play using the keyboard or a game pad no?

Anyway my specs are,
core i17 920 2.67ghz x 4
6gb ram
geforce gtx 285 1gb
windows vista home 64bit

If anyone can help me out with any tips, plugins, links or whatever, I'd REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it. I'm dieing to get past this. Thank you very much and I'm sorry if I offended anyone in anyway.

Hey there!

I personally didn't make good experiences with the 64bit version of dolphin (causes slowdowns, doesn't detect WiiMote etc.) but other say that it will speed things up...
Generally u can also play Wii-games with normal gamepads or even by keyboard but I can't give you advice over here because im using a real WiiMote (u really need a BlueTooth stick for this).
I've read a post about graphic bugs that look like the thing u have described. You should take a look over here: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-5199.html
Updating graphic drivers may be helpful, too.
Which plugin do you use? OpenGL has higher compability then D3D but gives you less performance, try both.
The crashed sound comes from a broken audio-plugin I think. Downloading the newest build should fix this. For using the LLE-Plugin you need two files which are not in the downloadpackage due to copyright problems but since it plays only crap you should stay by using the HLE plugin. I hope I could help you. Greetz

the LLE plugin is not only for sound though. It also allows you to bypass certain parts that freeze in certain games

Thanks for the advice, both of you. I'll try some things out and let everyone know a working build if I find one. I start by trying out 32bit versions of dolphin
