Do I need to use Xpadder? (re: 360 + mouse controls) - sofakng - 11-20-2009

I'm having a bit of a problem...

I'd like to use my Wireless X-Box 360 Controller for my Wiimote buttons and diagonal pad plus my mouse for the Wiimote cursor.

Is this possible? Do I need Xpadder?

In the [Pad] configuration ("Dolphin KB/X360pad"), I have XInput Pad --> Enable X360Pad enabled, but none of my Wireless 360 buttons work.

What am I doing wrong? Sad

The 360pad plugin is for a GC controller. To set up Wiimote emulation, you need to configure the Wiimote plugin with your 360 pad's buttons. You're going to be missing motion sensitivity though, the mouse only works as an on-screen cursor like the Wiimote pointer.

Ahhh, OK. I only care about Wii games so I'll ignore the "Pad" options for now.

Inside the Wii Remote Plugin Configuration, it says:
Gamepad: Controller (Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver)

The Analog 1/2 (In)(Out)'s both show my X-Box 360 joysticks moving around in the boxes.

However, I can't assign any buttons or anything else.

Also, how would I specify my mouse as the Wiimote motion?

You need to use xpadder to map the keyboard keys that the wiimote plugin uses to whatever keys you want on the 360 controller.
For example, I have the mouse movements (wii mote pointer) set to the right analog stick, I have A set to A, B set to right trigger (for firing stars in SMG Smile ) and I have the shake function set to X. This is all you'll need for most games apart from ones that need motion.

edit: oh and home set to start and L set to left trigger.
If you just have a wee go with xpadder you'll see it's very light weight and easy to use and you can have profiles for each game. It's also quite fun moving the mouse round windows with the joystick if your bored....

Or if you have a media center PC that you don't want to buy wireless crap for, just use a 360 controller as the mouse. With some well-thought-out mappings, you can navigate Windows and the internet with ease through a controller. Cool
