Stuttering/Ranmdom frame rate drops - spectral - 02-17-2017 This is a general problem across game I tried but I will use Mario Kart as the example as it happens very early and repeatedly. In the stable 5.0 this dpesn't occur, I get the normal shader compilation stutters and then next time I play its smooth. However I have been trying newer builds for bluetooth passthrough and in all of the ones I've tried I have some added sound stutter/FPS drops. The most easily reproducable one is in Mario kart DD. When ran and it shows the Ninteno logo and says "Nintendoooooo". The audio stutters and there is a momentary drop from 60 to 40fps. Again, in older builds this is completely smooth. Also it is repeatable, it does it every time so it definitely isn't shader compilation issues unless there something weird going on. RE: Stuttering/Ranmdom frame rate drops - KHg8m3r - 02-17-2017 Are you repeatedly switching between different dev builds? RE: Stuttering/Ranmdom frame rate drops - spectral - 02-17-2017 Nope, ran it about 20 times trying different combinations of graphics settings, etc. If I go back to the stable 5.0 it works fine again first time. On that, one it doesn't stutter there even before it's generted a shader. Then give up and delete it and its folder in documents to try again fresh with a newer build a few days later. But so far I've had it happen with every version I tried other than the stable one. Admitedly that isn't many, I only tried Dolphin for the first time at all a week or so back. Then only tried switching from stable to get bluetooth passthrough. I've been treating it more as something to mess with tbh as until there is a solution to the normal shader cache stutters its not really a viable way to properly play many games as in most you dont replay sections again anyway. RE: Stuttering/Ranmdom frame rate drops - Nyaako - 02-19-2017 I've had a very similar problem that happened to me. Have you tried moving the isos to a different hard drive and run the games from there? RE: Stuttering/Ranmdom frame rate drops - spectral - 02-19-2017 Yeah, they were on an old samsung 5400rpm drive which they worked ok on with the stable build. But I did try copying some to my SSD but it made no difference at all. |
