Should I buy the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017? - molul - 01-13-2017 I'm thinking about getting the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017, partly because I'd like to fully enjoy Dolphin (it was not possible with the Shield K1 tablet). I see the new model has the same hardware, so it's just an Android upgrade and very little else. The games I want to play the most are New Super Mario Bros Wii and Mario Kart Wii, but some old youtube videos show some annoying sound stuttering. Would those game work fine in Dolphin's current Android version? Would you recommend buying the Shield TV or isn't it powerful enough for Dolphin? Thanks a lot in advance
RE: Should I buy the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017? - JosJuice - 01-13-2017 Based on what the 2015 version runs like (which logically should be the same as for the new one): If you want to play New Super Mario Bros Wii, it's good enough. For very many other games (including Mario Kart Wii), it'll be too slow. RE: Should I buy the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017? - molul - 01-13-2017 Thank you very much D'oh! I guess I'll wait for future builds or really new Nvidia Shield TV version then. Maybe this weekend I'll try to stream the Windows Dolphin version to a Chromecast 2 device
RE: Should I buy the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017? - rclong - 01-14-2017 Other games run well, also. The Dragon Ball Z series, Viewtiful Joe, Rampage on GC, Frogger Returns, Contra Rebirth, Castlevania Rebirth, Mutant Melee, Wario World- all run pretty nicely. |
