Someone's got Dolphin running on a PS4? No one's mentioned it here yet AFAICT - AnyOldName3 - 01-07-2017

So I just saw this tweet from someone who presumably knows some stuff about things:

https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/817235485689020417

marcan42 Wrote:It's official: The PS4 runs Vulkan. PS4 Linux 4.10-rc2, AMDGPU-PRO 16.50, Dolphin and the Vulkan demos.

It looks to me like he's managed to:
  • Install Linux on a PS4.
  • Force AMD's open-source drivers to install on it.
  • Run Dolphin and other Vulkan software on it.

Does anyone know more about this? It's not a universal solution to getting simple Dolphin machine, as it's obviously going to be CPU bottlenecked a lot of the time, but something interesting could come of it.

If you want to know more, you should watch his console hacking talk from 33C3.

Linux on PS4 is still totally not user-friendly to achieve, right ?
I saw that tweet too, that's pretty awesome Smile

I doubt that 2.1 ghz jaguar cpu can hit full speed in many games.

I mean, the Dolphin twitter account has been retweeting the posts on this as it comes up, we're quite aware of it. And yea, it's a bit slow for Dolphin, but it's really neat!
