Low FPS even with good computer - UtopiaX - 12-21-2016

Hi so I just got the new dell XPS with the i7 processor and got melee all set up on dolphin. first time I ran it, it was running really fast at over 60 frames per second and the game was actually too fast running at like 120% speed. Then a day latter I tried it again and it was running at 60 fps even which was awesome. But now a week later trying to run it and its running at 30 fps and 40% game speed which makes literally no sense to me.  Any help is greatly appreciated as all the standard speed up options don't that I tried so far haven't really helped. Thx!

A little more info would be great. Like what non-default settings you're using. Please post what graphic backend you're using as well as the graphic settings

Go to Options > Graphic Settings. At the top, let me know what it says for backend. Also what display resolution you're running. Then go to the Enhancements tab & post what the internal resolution is set to

Haha alright well I got it working and all I changed was the backend to Direct 311 and then selected the intel chip.

But if you want to know anyways it was at open GL for backend and for resolution its at 640x528 which is native.  Thanks for all your help!

Also just as a side note should I use direct3D 11 or direct 3D 12. and which chip should I use the NVIDIA or intel as either one doesn't seem to make a difference.

Huge difference if you run game at 1080p or higher res
And Directx12 is the fastest one as long as force maximum performance out of your GPU (follow the link below for more info)
My GTX 860M run most games fine at 2560x2112 (4xIR) . There is no reason to play game at native res
