Random Slowdown? - bkudaimi - 11-21-2016

When running F-Zero GX on Dolphin 4.0 x64, my PC does well, except for one map called Sand Ocean Surface Slide. When starting this map, the speed starts at 28-32% instead of 100% and doesn't get better at all through gameplay. I don't know why it slows down on this one level and nothing else. I use a Core i7-4712HQ @2.30 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 750M (Dolphin 5.0 didn't run the game well, that's why I use 4.0). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dolphin 4.0 is no longer supported.  You need to update to the latest 5.0 version or one of the latest dev builds. You can choose to stay with 4.0, but no one will help troubleshoot it

He already stated that he tested 5.0.

@O.P. : You still should try the latest development builds. Also, make sure you´re using the latest GPU drivers and also make sure you´re not overheating, and that no other programs are running.

EDIT: I remember reading something on F-Zero GX´s wiki page about that issue, you should take a look there. Here, check it: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=F-Zero_GX

Quote from wiki
Heat Effect/Blur[edit]
Sand Ocean's heat effect cuts speed on even the most powerful computers. The effect can be disabled by turning on "Skip EFB Access from CPU."

DjBarry004:  Yes, I read that he stated 5.0 didn't work for him.  At that point we need to address why.  But we don't troubleshoot 4.0 as many changes have been done & there might be something else going on that we need to look into.

I just tested the Skip Access From CPU on that level.  Sure enough, with it enabled, it runs at 100% speed no problem.  With it disabled, the level only runs at about 40% speed

It works now with the "Skip EFB Access from CPU" option turned on. Thanks!
