How Do I Add AR Codes? - HisAwesomeness - 10-31-2016

So I am trying to add AR codes in Dolphin 4.0.2 and they are not working.

I go to AR Codes --> Add and I input code. I have it checked and I have enable cheats also checked. However, I go into the game (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker) and it doesn't work at all. No matter what I do it doesn't seem to work. I also have other AR hacks for the same game that don't work either, such as Moon Jump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Big Grin

We do not support 4.0.2 anymore.

Please install a 64 bit OS and upgrade to 5.0 if you want support here

I've tried it in 5.0 and the same AR codes still refuse to work. I just prefer to use 4.0.2 because it lags less for my games, but yeah, 5.0 has same issues with AR and Gecko codes that 4.0.2 has.

No you didn't. Your profile says you use a 32 bit OS, you can't use 5.0, and 4.0.2 is the last 32 bit version. We get users on 32 bit OSes claiming they "tried 5.0 and it's still broken" all the time.

Then you'll have to find somewhere else to get help then, sorry. http://www.reddit.com/r/emulation may help you, but other than that you're on your own.

To be fair, I've seen users type x86 even when they actually have x86-64.

To be honest, I'm not sure on the specs of my pc since my dad built it for me awhile back, but I installed 5.0 and it runs fine, just with more lag than 4.0.2 has.

Many issues could occur depending on your circumstance.
The codes you have could be for the wrong region.

The codes must be decrypted if they look like "E9FZ-A3QA-YCERP",also make sure the code doesn't still have the identifier line on it upon decrypting it or it will result in immediate crashes.
GCNcrypt is the usual program to use for decrypting AR codes,or you can use the helpful tool on Gamehacking[DOT]org directly within the Gamecube cheats section.

What codes are you trying?
Many certain types of codes can refuse to work due to recompiler getting lazy (like they usually do) with codes that modify execution-code/ASM addresses.

Some size modifiers for anything else other than Link himself will refuse to work and,Cosmo Cortney even mentions so on some of them such as the Seagull Size Modifier code not working on Dolphin.
If you try Interpreter and add then enable that code in particular,it would/should indeed work.

Thank you so much for the information! Exactly what I needed!

I was actually trying to add CosmoCotrney's Super Seizure Link code for The Wind Waker and it didn't work. I have NTSC version of Wind Waker and added the decrypted NTSC version of the code and it still did not work. I know it works because I saw PeanutButterGamer's video on a Wind Waker chaos edition which made use of that very hack I was trying to use. And I'm pretty sure PBG played it in Dolphin. So that's why I am very confused. I even tried adding the Gecko version (not entirely sure how to add codes there, just formatted it like the rest of the code in the file) and have tried adding the PAL AR version of it, but nothing works.
