It's funny that I made that last post about how I liked chain attacks and then just today I discover that there are, in fact, chain attacks in Xenoblade 2. The game introduces them in the middle of chapter 3, which seems a bit late to me, but oh well. Though they're not exactly the same as they were in the original, I like how they're implemented here. It really works well with the system of Blades and attributes and gives that extra depth I mentioned to fights. So far, I'm really liking this battle system.

Whew, the game was doing the "I'm not telling you something really big" angle. I mean, I'm not surprised, they heavily hinted it, but still better than what I was worrying it would do. After the reveal by an opponent, Rez's response to it was an "I don't care!" kind of response, but that makes sense considering they were about to do a battle. There still needs to be inquiry about this later, you can't just say you were involved in that and NOT be asked why and such later on, but still, that was pretty good! So far so good with the characters!

Do you get offended when the men are nearly impossibly ripped in video games too?

I'm sorry but it seems logical that any kind of visual media would want their characters to look attractive/good. That means young muscular men with tight jawlines and young busty women. Unrealistic? Yes. Misogyny? Probably not. Japanese games are a little different since masculinity isn't linked as much to muscle mass over there so the men in their visual media tend to be skinny and have fairly normal looking jawlines but the concept is the same. For example you're never going to see a fat protagonist in these games because no one wants to see that. That's just human nature. We're biologically programmed to search for traits associated with health and gender and find them attractive. Just because people like titties does not mean they think women aren't people with thoughts and feelings.
