RE: Nintendo Switch - DrHouse64 - 11-18-2017 I think DOOM, Skyrim and Rocket League points out the limitations of Switch hardware. Skyrim runs slightly better than the PS3 version. Not that it's really a problem. The gap between the Switch and the WiiU is not really huge tho. I don't know what AAA companies are going to do. Square Enix is planing to release FFXV pocket edition on it so I guess there's think of it like a Android device with a pad. Skyrim runs slightly better than the PS3 version. Skyrim is an excellent port, runs much better than the ps3 and has upgraded visuals as well close to ps4. As for the ffx pocket edition it is not confirmed by anyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqR58L9oEOc RE: Nintendo Switch - MayImilae - 11-19-2017 drhouse64 Wrote:The gap between the Switch and the WiiU is not really huge tho. It's pretty significant! Remember that Mario Kart 8 and Fast Racing Neo went from 720p to 1080p. That's a BIG leap! Of course Mario Kart 8 was without any visual enhancements, and Fast Racing had some visual enhancements but not much. Most of the time devs doing a port like that decide to go with a lower final resolution so they can add more effects or have better performance (like Skyrim). Spoiler: (Show Spoiler)
RE: Nintendo Switch - KHg8m3r - 11-19-2017 Also LoZ:BotW went from 720p to 900p. I think for Doom they were trying to stay faithful to how it looked on other platforms. RE: Nintendo Switch - Kurausukun - 11-19-2017 I don't think the Switch's power needs to be proven further. There have already been multiple absolutely beautiful games that ran excellently on the Switch, and that's what matters, not how powerful it is compared to whatever other console. Also keep in mind that the Switch is a tablet versus the full-size consoles that everyone else made, which makes it even more impressive. RE: Nintendo Switch - DrHouse64 - 11-20-2017 Damn you're true, Switch version looks way better than PS3. I guess It's time to reconsider my trust regarding some game reviewers. Let's not forget that Nintendo and a few other 3rd parties have always been masters at working with "limited" hardware. The Wii and 3DS library are chock full of examples. Sometimes art style carries more weight than polygon counts, advanced geometry, and fancy lighting. And even when those do count, plenty of devs have found ways to squeeze Nintendo's hardware in the past. I've only been a Switch owner for like 3 weeks, but I'm still amazed/impressed with this system graphically speaking. Like, I still can't get used to the massive draw distance in BotW, even after playing something like Horizon Zero Dawn. RE: Nintendo Switch - KHg8m3r - 11-20-2017 Nintendo magic is the best magic RE: Nintendo Switch - Link_to_the_past - 11-22-2017 Valkyria Chronicles 4 was announced for the Switch next year and it seems to be similar to the first game of the series. It will also be for ps4 and xboxone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJWkK7tFVV8 RE: Nintendo Switch - Admentus - 11-22-2017 Again... PC gamers are out of love. The first game was great, it was great as well it was ported to PC, even if it took six years to do so. Meh... I have patience, hopefully Valkyria Chronicles 4 gets ported to PC too... Hopefully not another six years this time. Yeah, the Switch version could well, but I always prefer PC above any system else. That's why emulation exists. Sadly, I wasn't that much of a fan for all it's sequels. It just... Well... It wasn't the first game, it wasn't for HD systems or it was JPN exclusive. Hopefully Valkyria Chronicles 4 stays true to the first game. |
