I mean 720p and 900p is soooo 2014 by now. I think you have to look at the whole picture though. Console are more than just graphical tech specs, especially Nintendo consoles, they're about creating an ecosystem for game developers. With the Wii, Nintendo created a new ecosystem with games that made the wii controller, that was initially written off as a gimmick, an integral part of the Wii gaming experience. I think the success of the Switch, as with many consoles, is dependent on the controllers. The switch outputs 1080p docked, and less intensive games will surely be able to play at that resolution. It is disappointing that the new Zelda title will not be able to play in HD, but the price point of the console has to be considered as well. RE: Nintendo Switch - Kurausukun - 01-20-2017 Just to set the record straight, both 720p and 900p are, in fact, HD. The Switch's screen is only 720p to begin with, so I'm not complaining. I want to play all the new Nintendo games at 4K UHD :'( Kinda wish Nintendo could just make a Switch emulator application with a controller/game card dongle for PC. RE: Nintendo Switch - Kurausukun - 01-20-2017 Well I've never had a screen that had a higher resolution that 1080p before, so I'm a bit biased... I just never saw the need for such high resolutions. 1080p looks great and 720p is certainly acceptable. But speaking of this, Cemu now supports higher internal resolutions I believe, so you can at least play Wii U games in 4K (once the emulator matures a bit, anyway). RE: Nintendo Switch - Invader - 01-21-2017 uuuuuhhhhhhhhh... I need an adult. http://nintendoeverything.com/senran-kagura-creator-talks-about-his-switch-project-and-how-he-wants-to-use-the-hd-rumble-feature/ If this is the only third-party use of the HD rumble, I swear to god... RE: Nintendo Switch - ExtremeDude2 - 01-21-2017 *laughs maniacally* RE: Nintendo Switch - DrHouse64 - 01-21-2017 That's it. That's what I was waiting for. Do yourself a favor and get a 4K UHD monitor! If you have 20/20 vision or good prescription glasses/contacts you'll never want to go back to using a 1080p monitor again. I'm sure the Switch's display will be acceptable but it's much worse than a top-tier android or iPad/iPhone, again price is a factor and such comparisons are unfair. |
