Unintuitive overclocking controls - Fallcrest - 10-08-2016 The recent pull request about emulated GPU overclocking got me to mess around with the CPU overclocking setting for the first time, and I was confused as to why the control panel was responding in certain ways. I noticed that at lower speeds, it let you control finer increments than at higher speeds. Moving up or down from 100% was a 3% (14mhz) increment, but moving up from the bottom (6% or 30mhz) was a 1mhz (less than 1%) increment, and moving down the top (400% 1944mhz) was a 53mhz (11%) increment. Why is this? RE: Unintuitive overclocking controls - JMC47 - 10-08-2016 Short story - Lower clocks are more useful than higher clocks. Long Story - Don't know. I just know it's what ended up being chosen and it worked well. At the higher amounts, 11% is a "smaller" change than at lower numbers is my thinking on it though. RE: Unintuitive overclocking controls - Kurausukun - 10-08-2016 I really think there should be a way to override the exact overclocking value using the gameinis, or maybe the config file. Doesn't Android have something like that? |
