Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - TehGuy - 09-18-2016 So here's a fun one. I was playing some Metroid Prime Trilogy earlier today and all's well and good; I then decide "yeah, let's compress the ISO" and let Dolphin to its thing and it spits out the .gcz Now, for whatever reason, Dolphin always defaults to the Interpreter when running the game and it becomes impossible to close the program normally (have to kill via Task Manager do to unresponsiveness); none of the other games compressed via Dolphin cause this problem RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - JosJuice - 09-18-2016 That sounds very strange. Does 5.0 have the same problem? RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - TehGuy - 09-19-2016 (09-18-2016, 05:11 PM)JosJuice Wrote: That sounds very strange. Does 5.0 have the same problem? 5.0 stable works fine; guess I'll have to run around and find out which build this starts in EDIT: didn't take long, issue starts in Dolphin 5.0-619 EDIT 2: turning off any active cheats (I had some Gecko codes active) also fixes the issue. Having any Gecko codes active will cause a game to swap to the interpreter for some reason EDIT 3: booting the game via the Wii System Menu will use the JIT recompiler, even with Gecko codes active RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - JosJuice - 09-19-2016 Does it work in the newest development version if you disable cheats? RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - Helios - 09-19-2016 Does this build work? http://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/pr-4216-dolphin-latest-x64.7z Alternatively, does it work properly if you turn off cheats? RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - Probwontusethisaccountagain - 09-19-2016 I have this exact same issue with Super Mario Sunshine if I enable the 60FPS Gecko code found on the Wiki page. For some reason, this does not happen with the 16:9 code. I have yet to try any other cheats. EDIT: I realized I was using an AR code for Widescreen, which may be why it's working. RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - TehGuy - 09-19-2016 I didn't want to be double or triple posting so I had made edits Quote:EDIT 2: turning off any active cheats (I had some Gecko codes active) also fixes the issue. Yeah, this build works fine with cheats active and booting directly from Dolphin instead of having to run through the system menu RE: Dolphin defaulting to Interpreter on compressed Metroid Prime Trilogy gcz - JosJuice - 09-19-2016 Okay, that matches the other reports of issues from 5.0-619. Hopefully PR 4216 will be merged soon. Were the Gecko codes really active when you booted through the system menu, though? Dolphin will only pick up on Gecko codes that are in (I believe) 00000000.ini, not ones you've set for Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's still a mystery to me why this only started happening after you turned the ISO into a GCZ, but whatever, the PR fixes it anyway. Also, I had forgotten to test the PR to see if the cheats actually worked on top of not defaulting to the interpreter and they worked just fine (might be useless info, but I figured it'd be good to state) |
