Windwaker Slowdown... - envisaged0ne - 09-18-2016

When I was using dev build .443, Windwaker ran at a solid 30fps, 100% speed.  I decided to upgrade to build .622 and the speed of the game slowed down to 70%, only running at about 20fps.  Same exact settings.  I went ahead and updated to the latest .632 build & it still has the same problem.  I don't know exactly what build it started to slow down between .443 & .622.  So far, this is the only game I've really noticed a problem.  I since have reverted back to build .443 and, again, the game is running at a solid 30fps 100% speed.

And, just to avoid someone asking, YES, I made sure all the settings between the different builds were EXACTLY the same

Bisect if you can, keep going halfway through the known good and known problematic build until you find the build responsible.

Ok, best I can tell, it starts at build .540.  Previous downloadable versions play fine at full speed

Dynamic bats.

Whelp, too bad. I guess Wind Waker runs slower for you now.

I'm kidding of course, but, could you try Enable MMU in the game properties page to see if that fixes it? Enable MMU now tends to speed things up on JIT64.

I can't reproduce this.

Enabling MMU didn't make a difference unfortunately.  Still runs at 20fps.

I wonder if you're running low on RAM, dolphin expects at least 4GB now with Dynamic BATs

RE: Windwaker Slowdown... - envisaged0ne - 09-18-2016

Strange.  When I ran .443, my RAM usage goes up to 65% when I play Windwaker.  However, when I ran the latest dev build, the RAM stayed at 35% usage, which is where it was at when I launched Dolphin, but hadn't ran the game yet.  So, running the game didn't make the ram usage go up at all Undecided

EDIT: I figured it out!! Turns out enabling the Infinite Health AR code was causing the slowdowns. I disabled all cheats, then re-enabled them one by one & found that the Infinite Health cheat was causing all the problem on all builds since .540 Big Grin
