Wii Controller 1 disconnected - kathiedart - 09-13-2016

When I start a game I get a notification:
Wiimote 1 connected
Wiimote 1 disconnected
Wiimote 1 disconnected
Wiimote 1 disconnected
Wiimote 1 disconnected

, which is completely incorrect as it is showing up in the system and lights as connected. If I disconnect from the system, the game will take over and connect to it, but only for a few seconds before claiming that it's lost its control, apparently not even wanting control.

I'm extremely disappointed, I was told this was good software, but doesn't seem to even want to play ball no matter what options I have on (continuous scanning or not), whether hid_wiimote is loaded or not, it's even an official v1 wiimote, and works perfectly with an actual wii.

Those appear to be common causes here so I thought I'd say it was none of them...

Has anyone more hints?

Thanks

Don't mess with the Wiimote and don't try to pair it with your system. That will prevent Dolphin from seeing/using it, or worse, Dolphin will see it, but it will conflict.

Unpair your Wiimote, just make sure Bluetooth is enabled, Continuous Scanning is enabled, you have a real Wiimote configured, then just press 1+2 and it should connect.

Ok, that's a weird setup, that's what I got when it worked for a few seconds and complained about it disappearing...

Trying that now, I removed it from the system, and with both bluetooth on and off in the system I just got the "A supported bluetooth device could not be found, you must manually connect your wiimotes" message from dolphin... so no good really...
I've got no reason for disconnection in logs either... I'd have thought at least it would tell me why, or put the system for connecting in the dialog...

Do you have logs enabled? They're mostly disabled by default. Also, make sure that even though Bluetooth is off, the adapter itself is actually powered on with hciconfig hci0 up

(on an unrelated note, you may be interested in trying your adapter with PR 4195, which gives you pairing support, working Wiimote audio and better M+ detection/motions.)
