Intel i5-6600k + Intel Iris Pro 530 - farfromrefuge - 03-10-2016

I am planning a slim HTPC build and I do not want to add a videocard to it. So I wanted to ask here, if Iris Pro 530 would be enough for Dolphin? I am looking for 1080p performance, which would mean somewhere around 3xIR, right?

Second question - are HD-textures GPU or RAM heavy? I want to use Wind Waker HD-texture pack.

There is no such thing as Intel Iris Pro 530 . It's the "GT2" version of the Skylake GPU just like the GT2 of Haswell : Intel HD 4600
You are confused between Intel HD 530 and Iris Pro 580 which is not yet to be released . If you're looking for 1080p performance , you should op for a dedicated video card like Nvidia GTX 750 Ti
Intel HD 530 might be able to run some light-weight games at 1080p without losing too much FPS .However , Graphically demanding games are out of the question and you will have graphic issue due to bad driver
Quote:HD-textures GPU or RAM heavy?
Both . You will need 16GB of RAM for HD texture (Xenoblade) and discrete GPU is a must . Zelda WW isn't graphically demanding like Xenoblade . So 8Gb maybe fine idk
Edit : Btw , The Alienware Alpha barebone PC is pretty cheap and powerful enough for most games . If you don't mind buying prebuilt PC then it's the solid option for HTPC . I doubt you could build sth as small as that for $500 anyway
The i3 version has been tested with Dolphin and it can run most game at 1080p full speed since the custom maxwell GPU is GTX 860M . This is the i5 version (i5 4590T @ 2,0GHz with turbo max = 3.0GHz )which is better
In Dolphin Benchmark , i3 4130 @ 3.4GHz is faster than FX 8350 @ 5.0GHz . Therefore this is an upgrade for your old PC

Thank you, I'll think about getting Alienware Steam Machine! That's definetely a route I haven't considered before.

well a i5-6600k with integrated graphics should do fine as long a you don't use the extended shaders in the ishiiruka build like SSAO and such.
