Sudden Frame stutters and stops - Arcade - 03-05-2016 I recently got project M with the dolphin emulator. Every time I play however it will stop or skip so much that I would think that I am using a scratched disc. At one point it even blue screened my computer. I play netplay with my friends and I am the one bring everyone down because they don't have the same problem I am having. One of my friends has a computer with worse specs than mine and he can run it just fine. I did try other games like waverace and mario party. They did not stutter but other games like double dash would stutter at times. Super Monkey Ball was terrible however, that dropped to around 45 and with that game, it's just a crime. I should be more than capable to run these games, please help! RE: Sudden Frame stutters and stops - admin89 - 03-05-2016 So I assume you're using the latest Dolphin and Direct3d12 , right ? Your CPU is very fast for anything aside from Dolphin as it's a dual core application and FX series's single thread performance is really bad . But for these light-weight games , just like you said , your CPU should be fine RE: Sudden Frame stutters and stops - Arcade - 03-05-2016 (03-05-2016, 03:41 PM)admin89 Wrote: So I assume you're using the latest Dolphin and Direct3d12 , right ? Yeah, that's why I find it really weird that it would be doing this. I turned down the volume and somehow that helped a little. Any other suggestions? RE: Sudden Frame stutters and stops - admin89 - 03-05-2016 Check your CPU speed , temp with CPUZ and Coretemp You can speedup Dolphin by turning off turbo core in the Bios . It has no real benefit , only harm your performance . I used to own AMD A10 6790k btw Overclocking is also helpful . My A10 @ 4.5GHz is fast enough for most games , I did that with stock cooler and very low Vcore : 1.36V (lower Vcore for safer OC) . |
