Im buying a new computer can this hardware run dolphin? - theramdomguy - 03-03-2016

Hi everyone, in new to the Dolphin Forums, the thing I want your help is:
In 3 or 4 months I will buy a new computer and I want to know if this specs are good enough:

HP Desktop Computer: 27-N101LA Model
CPU: 4th generation Intel® Core i5-4590T, Quad-Core 2.00 GHz (3.00 GHz Turbo Mode)
GPU: AMD Radeon R7 A360 with 4GB DDR3 dedicated
RAM:8 GB memory PC3-12800 DDR3L-1600 SDRAM 1x8 GB.
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

The games I want to run are:
Mario Party 8
Supers Smash Brothers Melee
Sonic Colors

I normally run this games at 480p

Thanks you for listening and a big thanks if you can help me Big Grin

It is a pretty weak system for more demanding games smash should be fine though.

If I'm not wrong , that All-in-One PC will cost 1500 USD . For a price like that , you could buy a beefy laptop that is at least 3 times faster than the HP or build a super gaming desktop
Quote:AMD Radeon R7 A360
is really really bad . It's not the desktop R7 360X but a low clock mobile GPU . It's not even as fast as R7 M360 of notebook

I'm pretty sure even the integrated Intel HD 530 (skylake) could beat it

Hi again Big Grin

I have done more reasearch about gaming computers and im here again with a new one

Model: Alienware X51
CPU:Sixth Generation Core i7-6700 3.4GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2 GB GDDR5.
RAM: 8 GB DDR4 2133 MHz (4 GB x 2) Dual Channel.

Im not a hardware expert but i think these specs would be fine

THanks again for the help

The CPU is decent, but the GPU is still a mobile GPU… that's not what most people would call a desktop gaming computer. Really, just consider building it yourself. You'll get a better, overclockable CPU, a real powerful desktop GPU and anything else for half the price.

If you insist on buying a pre-built computer, well… that's your choice.

Where did you find an Alienware X51 with an i7-6700 and a 960M GPU? I don't see that combo anywhere.

Also, it would be much cheaper to build your own system.

Well what GPU do you guys recommend to get?

RE: Im buying a new computer can this hardware run dolphin? - Helios - 03-08-2016

pretty much any nvidia GPU. Doesn't even need to be particularly good or fast.

Will a gtx 960 with 4GB DDR3 be fine?
