GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - coredrill1226 - 03-02-2016 Hello! I'm running Dolphin 4.0-9050 with an official Nintendo Wii U Adapter + Sm4sh GC controller. I've been playing melee and have had a lot of issues with the controller, most notably the c-stick and regular joystick. They seem to only work selectively, as if Dolphin is dropping a lot of inputs. About 6/10 times when I hit the joystick two times to the right or left to dash, my character will just casually walk. When I hit the C-stick in a direction to do an attack sometimes, absolutely nothing will happen. In a game like melee, this is a huge deal. I'm taking a risk every time I try to move or use the c-stick to attack because sometimes they just flat out will not input. I have the latest zadig drivers, I've tried re-installing the drivers, I've tried re-installing Dolphin, I've tried using a different Melee ISO, I tried different usb ports, I tried putting the gamecube controller in a different adapter port, nothing. I'm pretty certain it's not the controller itself either since it works flawlessly in Sm4sh on the Wii U. So any ideas? I searched for awhile but can't really find anyone with a similar issue. Usually it's either the controller doesn't work at all, or works perfectly, but I can't find a case like mine where it only works selectively. Thanks. RE: GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - ExtremeDude2 - 03-02-2016 Does the adapter work on the wiiu? Yes, the adapter and controller both work perfectly on the Wii U RE: GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - coredrill1226 - 03-06-2016 Bump, anyone might have any ideas? RE: GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - Super David - 03-06-2016 Have you tried plugging in both the gray and black ends at the same time? I'm not sure that this actually does anything useful, but I have heard it being recommended. It sounds like you have the same problem I had. One of my computers has this problem while the other doesn't. I'm not exactly sure what causes this issue. I just can't figure out what the problem might be. RE: GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - TehBazzard - 03-12-2016 Have you used Zadig to make them work? RE: GC Controller w/ Adapter only works selectively - coredrill1226 - 09-25-2017 Bumping this thread again since I've tried playing Melee again using Dolphin and still having the same issues. I also tried it with my PS4 controller and I had the same issues, meaning this must be a problem with Dolphin or drivers or something because it's not my adapter or controller. Does anyone have any ideas? Really lame that I basically can't play the game cause of the controls and I can't find a single other person with this issue whenever I google it, aside from Super David saying one of his computers had the problem, making me think this must be some sort of driver issue. |
