Slowdown after 30 - 40 minutes of gameplay? - keem85 - 02-25-2016

So I'm playing Wind Waker and everything runs smoothly, but after a while it suddenly runs at HALF the speed.. I tried to google it, but I only found resolutions to slowness in general, not slowdowns.
I had this issue a couple of years back also I remember. Memory comes back to me now, I suggest there are some settings that I have set wrong?.. I have a feeling that  this is a known problem somehow, but I can't figure out what it is.

Specs:
Intel i7 4770k overclocked at 4.5
12gb ram

vsync on
Enhancements:
Scaled EFB Copy

Turn off vsync.

If you really want vsync, my recommendation is to go into nvidia control panel, set up a profile for Dolphin, set preferred power level to "Prefer high performance" or whatever it's called, and then set v-sync in nvidia control panel to "Adaptive"

Thanks, I will try that. Do you have more information for me regarding that?
EDIT: Like, why it happens for example

Yeah. Our implementation of vsync is *very* touchy. If you drop even a little under your refresh rate, Dolphin will slow down like crazy.

Is your CPU overheating after 30mins?

No, it's water cooled and keeps a fairly ok temperature. I'll go for the vsync option, hoping that's the reason Smile

Hi

I tested it, and now I get slowdowns faster.. It slows down, and then speeds up again, but after a while it's full slowdown by half speed..
Maybe it's because I'm using DX12?

RE: Slowdown after 30 - 40 minutes of gameplay? - keem85 - 02-27-2016

Nope. It happend with DX11 too.. I wonder what the problem is.. Can't figure it out!!

Does anyone have any other tips for me here? I've tried OpenGL now, and the same slowdowns occur. Now within fire to ten minutes... If I do a quicksave and then quickload, the slowness is gone...

Please if anyone have any more tips to try! (check my settings creenshots)
