FAILED TO DOWNLOAD CODES - Bluerose5 - 02-14-2016
Hello from a newbie.
I cant seem to download Wiird codes from properties > Gecko Codes > download Codes? getting the error: FAILED TO DOWNLOAD CODES
I want to add cheats fro Mario Kart Wii, and cant seem to figure out how to do this,

Most likely there aren't any godes for the game you are searching for. For my 3 games, only The Wind Waker gets codes, while Pokemon XD and OOT (the GC one, not the VC one).
Go to http://geckocodes.org/ and search for your game and compare the Game ID, if you get any results.
(Question to the devs: Why are the first 4 characters used when the game id doesn't start with either G, R or S? This breaks D43P01 (Pal GC OOT))

It's supposed to use four characters for Virtual Console and WiiWare games. I don't think there's any particular reason it's checking the game ID instead of actually checking the game type. Thanks for bringing this to my attention – I'll try to get it fixed.

I think you may be right. I jsut checked the versions. I am running RMCECT for MArio Kart, and the codes are for another version. Back to the drawing board. !
