I'd like to play Xenoblade Chronicles in 1080p with HD textures(everything I guess). I'd also like to play F-ZERO GX in HD, along with plenty more less-demanding games. How will they run on this CPU? Is it too weak for proper emulation? RE: Is this i3 good enough? - leolam - 02-13-2016 That CPU should be pretty good for Dolphin (since it's a Skylake and the frequency isn't too bad). IIRC, you can even overclock it if you have a compatible motherboard. RE: Is this i3 good enough? - FinalSmash - 02-13-2016 So I should be able to run Xenoblade with all the HD textures? RE: Is this i3 good enough? - leolam - 02-14-2016 Ah, that's too bad :/ good I didn't buy a Skylake i3 (which I wanted to overclock to replace my current G3258). RE: Is this i3 good enough? - admin89 - 02-14-2016 Skylake i3 + new mobo upgrade + DDR4 would cost as much as i7 4790k though And btw , I don't think the @OP will overclock . After all , he chose H110 mobo that does not support non-K OC RE: Is this i3 good enough? - degasus - 02-15-2016 @FinalSmash: This is a high-frequency current gen Intel CPU. It will work very well. Don't listen to the marketing guys telling you this is only the i3, we neither can't use more than a dual core, so buying i5 or a i7 is just wasted money. But for XC with HD textures, you should buy more RAM. Else you can't use texture prefetching.
