Helio X10 - kenevil1 - 01-30-2016 As currently the Helio X10 processor is seen as underpowered for dolphin's emulation. But I'm curious if this is true. Since I've seen claims that the GPU is in fact the problem, with PowerVR G6250 not detecting the load causing it to run at 100Mhz's. So far I have tested Wind Waker on the LeTV X600 and the fps I got on the different emu cores during the start screen was: Interpreter - 5-6fps Cached Interpreter - 5-6fps JIT ARM - 1-3fps FPS after the starting a new game and panning into the island: Interpreter - 1-3fps Cached Interpreter - 1-3fps JIT ARM - 1fps So any idea which side is true, is it due to the processor or the GPU not detecting the load? RE: Helio X10 - mbc07 - 01-30-2016 It *might* be due buggy GPU drivers. AFAIK nobody tested Dolphin on devices with PowerVR GPUs before and thus it's unknown how it would perform... RE: Helio X10 - Sonicadvance1 - 01-30-2016 I have a device with the Helio X10 which I've rooted to unlock the GPU's clock speed and to run it at full clocks. It's a video driver limitation, even at the higher GPU clock speeds the speed doesn't increase. I've only noticed one visual bug in PowerVR drivers and that is with it culling away triangles that are visible when it shouldn't be. I reported the slow speeds to IMGTec a while back and haven't gotten a response. RE: Helio X10 - mbc07 - 01-30-2016 WOW, so, that's it? No other serious graphic bugs apart from the culling and GPU locked to slow speeds? Seems impressive, since PowerVR isn't too widespread in mobile devices I was expecting something completely bugged like the first Adreno or Mali drivers... Makes sense to me, as Imagination's work with Apple is generally also of a stable, yet slow kind. More importantly imagination has a reasonably competent set of people working on drivers. I imagine if they focused more on android, and had more device wins they would clean all of this up quickly. So does this mean that the only way to get the Helio X10 to function well on dolphin is to hope the drivers get updated, or is there some possible work around code wise? EDIT: P.s. I forgot to mention that I get an error whenever I start Wind Waker and get past the intro, error states: 'Panic alert, failed to compile pixel shaders.' RE: Helio X10 - Sonicadvance1 - 01-31-2016 There is no way to work around the slowness. |
