Are Nouveau drivers similar in quality to Nvidia drivers? - Nintonito - 01-26-2016

looking at the pixel C,  and I've been informed of the use of Nouveau drivers.  Does this have any real impact on driver quality?  I've heard some rumbling on xda that some games that do properly use Tegra's 3.1 + AEP implementation instead of desktop OGL still has graphics bugs (example being the talos principle).

You're misunderstanding what the Pixel C is using.
It's still using Nvidia's userspace video drivers, it's just using Nouveau's kernel space DRM.
The only thing that the kernel DRM does is communicate between the GPU and the userspace video drivers. Plus a few other menial things like buffer management.

Someone should tell Anandtech that because their review says GPU drivers are provided by Nouveau.
