Looking for buildbot detailed changelog - gamergrl - 12-31-2015

Just wondering about the buildbot releases is there any thread where I can see what the new build fixed/changed/addressed/did?

Almost every build description contains a PR link (something like PR #3361). That will take you to a page that contains all available details.

And of course our monthly progress reports go into detail on notable changes!

Realistically, the progress reports are what you're looking for. Buildbot produces a new build no matter how small the change, and no matter whether or not it affects Android.

For example, "Fixed a typo in the About dialog on Mac OS" produces a new build for Android. Frankly, the vast majority of builds fall into this category.

You probably don't need to update more than once a month (keep in mind: every time you update, performance is temporarily reduced because the shader cache has to be thrown out.)

Oh, I had missed that this was in the Android forum. I think you will need to look at https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ to find the PR links that I mentioned in my previous post.

Yes i did catch that which is why i was hoping to find a place where i didnt have to read each one. Generally i check for updates once every two months or so. Did not think about the shader dump though. Duh lol. Thanks!

I have been but it seems like they dont really include the android version?

It does! For example, 1, 2, and 3. But there aren't many notable changes to android right now, so there isn't much to cover... :/

There's a few reasons for this:

-Many of the changes that are discussed in the progress reports also apply to the Android version.

-There are fewer changes specific to Android.

-The desktop version is a mature product; most things generally work, and when something doesn't and gets fixed, it's usually an interesting story (this month's XFB fix, for example.) Android on the other hand still needs a lot of improvements to the basic quality of emulation; "improved <some-ppc-instruction> in JIT" isn't a terribly exciting or informative story, and those types of improvements aren't included for the desktop version either.

Hope that clears things up.

Not every part, no. But Android updates are usually pointed out on the blog. There will be a cool one coming in January! Big Grin
