Is my computer good enough? - Hutchinsuch - 10-26-2015 I just installed dolphin, obtained several games and attempted to play them. my experience was as follows: slow, choppy and laggy sound. Laggy, slow and choopy gameplay. Luigis mansion also crashed. The games that are associated with this experience are: Pokemon XD Wind Waker Luigis Mansion And smash brother brawl I also adjusted my dolphin graphics settings: Backened OpenGL Vsync in dolphine was left unchecked. I am also not playing the game in "Full Screen" mode. I did this with the hopes that my experience may improve, after doing so my experience remained relatively unchanged. Is there something I am missing or doing wrong? Or should i just give up now? My apparent laptop specs: I recently upgraged to windows 10 lenovo Z570 with intel 3000 integrated graphics. 2.5ghz intel i5-2450M CPU 8GB of ram. technical knowledge is slightly above average so I will understand very little "geek speak". I play skyrim on my computer on a regular basis with no issues so i assume that my graphics card is decent enough to run gamecube games. But from what I understand this isnt about running game cube games its about running dolphin. I have the latest version of dolphin installed (4.0-8059) RE: Is my computer good enough? - Helios - 10-26-2015 Dolphin doesn't need much from the GPU, but your Intel HD 3000 GPU is hurting you. Your CPU should be fine, assuming you have adequate cooling and are not being thermally throttled. That said, you can work around your very weak GPU by setting the Internal Resolution in the Graphics > Enhancement settings to 1x or 1.5x. Any higher will choke your GPU. |
