How to edit a texture with an alpha channel? - rlaugh0095 - 10-16-2015

Hey guys, I need advice. I've come up on a texture with an alpha channel and I have no idea how to edit it. o.o
The program Im using is gimp 2. Ideally Id like to replace the old texture with something new.

Paint.NET is what I use for texture editing: http://www.getpaint.net/index.html

It's free and it can see and edit the alpha channel however you want. Its magic wand tool is also very useful.

GIMP can edit stuff with alpha transparency. Is the problem unfamiliarity with GIMP in general? Use whatever works best for you, I'm just curious what's the trouble.
