won't install latest version on Samsung Tab A - segaofice - 10-16-2015

Hello, I installed the latest (at the time) build on my Note 5 recently, because Tmobile is apparently awesome atm I got a Samsung Tab A for just the cost of taxes. I have an issue installing the latest dolphin on it, it just simply ends the installation prompt with "app was not installed". I watch these forums pretty regularly and had known that the new vers need an armv8 compatable device, the tab a has a snapdragon 410, which of that im pretty sure it is the new one with armv8 support. So i was wondering if this could be caused by the kernel using armv7l or is it just not detecting.

Thx for any response, this isnt pressing and i was just going to try it for comparison purposes, its about 1/3ish the antutu score for my note 5 but i was wondering if the qualcomm drivers were going to give the Tab A better results than the mali drivers in the note 5.

ok I've done more resarch into this, the kernel that the tab is running on atm is a 32bit one, this is more than likly the real culprit. That means that when it is updated to marshmellow next yearish, it will probably have the 64 bit arch needed for dolphin, althogh by the time that happens the note 5 could get opengles 3.2, making the test pointless. I'm doubtful that the core in the Tab A will be able to get opengles 3.1 or 3.2, but heres to hoping for the best.

Uh, if you device launched with 32-bit userspace the chances of getting support for 64-bit userspace through updates is veeery close to zero. Not to mention that Snapdragon 410 is just too weak to even bother trying to run Dolphin on it...

Well it is the newer version of the 410 that is more powerful and supports the 64 bit userspace, it has been used in actual 64 bit roms for other devices, but I know it is lack luster. The device is going to be updated to marshmallow dispite it's low hardware, and by Samsung which doesn't usually support anything less than 400$. It's graphics are also quite suprisingly powerful, but because this is dolphin I expect the cpu will be the true bottleneck if this device ever gets a 64bit rom.

This was only for a test anyhow, mostly just some thinking out loud I wanted to do. Also I think the reason it got a 32bit rom to start is because it looks like Samsung might have just been using another tablet's roms they had on hand, tho even that means little. No matter I still have my note 5 to hope for and a laptop that can already do dolphin just fine for when I need a gc/wii gaming fix ^^.
