RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - Sannakji - 10-18-2015 Nobody here is posting off-topic. Also, don't post if you can't take the proper time to consider what they OP is asking for. It just spreads misinformation. If the OP has yet to build, I would recommend an i5 6600K or if he can stretch, an i7 6700K (not for Dolphin, but we are unsure how DX12 is going to perform in other games). But of course, as he was talking about an existing lag problem, everyone apart from you realized he already has these parts. Which are in fact, excellent, and multiple times better than your setup. So do everyone a favour and read the OP or don't bother posting. RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - Irrelevant_pelican - 10-18-2015 I went to download the latest development version and I got an error message: "The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Once I get that .dll I suppose I'll try HLE audio. Well it's on HLE audio, but it sounds like this 5.0rc version I'm using isn't very good, so hopefully it makes a difference.
RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - ExtremeDude2 - 10-18-2015 You need to make sure you installed everything (aka this): https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - Irrelevant_pelican - 10-18-2015 The different version didn't change anything, still laggy and choppy in 1080p. HLE audio. I tried changing to Open3D and it made it much worse, got a lot of black screen errors, took forever to open up. Be prepared for lots of crashes. But this sounds like your GPU is no in the high performance mode :/ How do I put my GPU into high performance mode? Edit: Also admin89 I am going to upgrade my GPU and CPU regardless of Dolphin and I wanted to see the CPU you recommended but I don't see your post anymore. RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - Kurausukun - 10-19-2015 Add a profile for Dolphin.exe in the Nvidia Control Panel, make sure it's set to run with the dedicated graphics card, and under "Power Management Mode," make sure it's set to "Prefer Maximum Performance." Hopefully that help. Just asking to clarify-- I'm being given a gift of cash to upgrade my CPU and/or GPU. If my CPU is already MORE than adequate, then I will not bother with it. If a better CPU can help Dolphin at all, please let me know, and let me know if what you recommend that costs $280-$300 (I paid $280 for my i7 4770k). I do not plan on overclocking so if I need a better CPU that will make it so I don't have to over clock my current CPU, I would appreciate a recommendation. Again, here is what I have currently: intel core i7-4770K @ 3.50GHz I am totally able to spend 280-300 on a new CPU, should I? RE: Should I be able to play Mario Galaxy at 1080 with no lag with these specs? - ExtremeDude2 - 10-25-2015 The only way your CPU would get better is with over clocking or getting a new one which would also require a new motherboard. Hello Kurausukun, I don't see an option to set it to the dedicated graphics card. Here's a screen shot- am I in the correct place?
