Improve Macbook Pro 17 Performance - Van Thai - 10-03-2015 Hi everybody!! Can someone help me with some performance tips for a Macbook Pro 17" CPU: Intel Core i7 2.2 GHz Memory: 8GB 1,600 MHz DDR3 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512MB & AMD Radeon HD 6750M I don't know if the CPU is too slow o whats happening, My Dolphin version is: 5.0-rc-27 RE: Improve Macbook Pro 17 Performance - KHg8m3r - 10-03-2015 What games are you trying to play? RE: Improve Macbook Pro 17 Performance - admin89 - 10-03-2015 MacBook Pro + Dolphin = overheating . Keep in mind that Mac Pro is no gaming laptop and their OEM thermal paste sucks so bad (it degrades quite fast) There is no way to check your laptop's condition as long as you keep using OSX . Install windows 7/8/10 64bit via bootcamp , AMD driver for windows and this and then run Dolphin along side with Realtemp to verify your CPU's clock speed All i5 i7 have turbo boost feature that boost up CPU speed higher than default (yours is 2.2GHz) . Turbo Boost will not work if CPU overheats . Btw Dolphin is a dual core app , that's why 2.2GHz is too slow for most games After installing Windows , you should read laptop performance guide https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/faq/#my-laptop-new-gpu-not-performing-well-it-should RE: Improve Macbook Pro 17 Performance - Nintonito - 10-05-2015 (10-03-2015, 10:26 AM)admin89 Wrote: MacBook Pro + Dolphin = overheating . Unfortunately his is not that new. Turbo boost still barely works on sustained workloads with the limited airflow but the temps are stable on my 2014 MBP. Personally I would install Windows just for the improved dolphin performance. |
