Just A Curiosity Question About Virtual Console Games - appollo147 - 09-26-2015 This is just a thread to satisfy my own curiosity. It states in the Dolphin wiki that it takes a faster PC to run N64 Virtual Console games than it does to run Wii and Gamecube games, and I was just wondering why. You would think it would be just the opposite since the N64 is an older less powerful system. RE: Just A Curiosity Question About Virtual Console Games - JosJuice - 09-26-2015 Emulating a game requires better hardware than running a game natively. When you're running an N64 game in Dolphin, you're running an emulator inside an emulator, so you need even better hardware than when only running one emulator. RE: Just A Curiosity Question About Virtual Console Games - DrHouse64 - 09-26-2015 Yup. If you didn't know, Wii already use an emulator for Virtual Console games. RE: Just A Curiosity Question About Virtual Console Games - appollo147 - 09-27-2015 Thanx for the answer guys. I never thought of it that way, but it makes a lot of sense. |
