Just A Curiosity Question About Virtual Console Games - appollo147 - 09-26-2015

This is just a thread to satisfy my own curiosity. It states in the Dolphin wiki that it takes a faster PC to run N64 Virtual Console games than it does to run Wii and Gamecube games, and I was just wondering why. You would think it would be just the opposite since the N64 is an older less powerful system.

Emulating a game requires better hardware than running a game natively. When you're running an N64 game in Dolphin, you're running an emulator inside an emulator, so you need even better hardware than when only running one emulator.

Yup. If you didn't know, Wii already use an emulator for Virtual Console games.

Thanx for the answer guys. I never thought of it that way, but it makes a lot of sense.
