PS4 Controller calibration with Emulated Wiimote Shake/Tilt - Benie - 09-16-2015

Hey, new here. Thanks for Dolphin. Great program. Anyway, I've been having issues trying to set the axis' of the Emulated Wiimote's shaking/tilt features. Using a PS4 Controller (using InputMapper to make it work with my PC).
I'm using my controller's right stick, with my left stick for moving the player character around. 'A' is my Triangle button, 'B' is my Square button, '1" is my X button, and '2' is my Circle button.

So anyway, this is kind of hard to explain. For 'New Super Mario Bros Wii', I somewhat was able to get the tilt/shaking thing working. But on certain levels, I had difficulty.

Trying to set my name on Animal Crossing: Town Folk, the cursor rotates around and bounces between the V and Spacebar back and forth. I can't get it to act like a true mouse cursor. Hell, even trying my actual mouse, I can see the Swing and Tilt options going everywhere.
Just FYI, I do have an old Gamecube controller, but I don't have the hardware to make it work with my computer. And plus, it wouldn't be 'compatible' with the Wii.

Here's a picture of my setup. Hopefully it'll help, and get some advice to properly set my right stick. I just want to use my right stick without it flailing everywhere (or failing to rotate properly);

First of all, with the wiimote, every game is going to use it differently, so you should create profiles for each one.

The main problem I see is that you have configured the dpad of the wiimote to your left stick. Don't do that! And in NSMBW, the wiimote-only controls are meant to be sideways, so you should have been using sideways wiimote for that. Or better yet, don't use sideways wiimote and set up a nunchuk extension, since you seem to want to use a joystick instead of a dpad.

As for animal crossing, the setup from new super mario bros wii is most likely interfering.

Again, just remember what the game does on the wii, and replicate that on a game by game basis, and save profiles for each one. Or get a real wiimote and have a lot less hassle. ^-^

Thanks for the response, MaJoR. May I ask why not to use my left stick as the D-Pad? I've got comfortable using it and it's easier on the thumbs (as most of my PS4 games use it).
And getting a Wiimote with the Numckuk, plus a Bluetooth and a Balance Bar, I don't got the space, let alone the plugs and ports for it. I'm stuck with this controller.

What I came here for, is finer control of the Emulated Wiimote's rolling and shaking features (using this PS4 Controller). I still need help with this.

Because it's yucky! And totally needless when you can control the game with a nunchuk and its joystick, and you are messing up controls for both games by mixing in animal crossing! And yes this relates to the rolling and shaking features, you have to set that correctly first!

Hello. I'm also new to using dolphin, and my setup is using the ps4 dual shock controller. I've been searching online for a couple days now..

Question: Am I correct in assuming there is no real solution for having the dual shock controller generate tile/shake/rotate data and using that data to emulate the wiimote?

Between this post and one other post I found online, it looks like people are mapping the emulated wiimote tilt/shake data to keyboard, or in this post, using the analog stick to simulate rotation data.

Also, I guess its required to have some program running in order to make use of all the ps4 sensors? I tried DS4Windows and more recently InputMapper, but whenever I have those running, I can't set the controller inputs correctly in dolphin. (I'm on windows 8.1, and I've toggled the exclusivity on/off) I wish there was a simple tutorial for using PS4 wireless controller with dolphin, such that it could generate rotation data and rumble. I bought the ps4 controller over xbox one controllers because I thought they provided more functionality. Don't know if xbox one controllers work better.. no idea!
