Please support motion controls with the Steam Controller when it releases - Baryn - 09-11-2015

I know people have wanted this with the PS3 and PS4 controllers, but I understand why that might be difficult, seeing as they do not have official drivers.

But the Steam Controller should have APIs to make this fairly easy to add to any game, or game system such as Dolphin.

Please guys! With its motion controls and mouse-like pointer support, this could be the gamepad which carries Wii emulation into the future.

The developers in general do not like adding custom code for specific drivers/devices that aren't native to the platform. The list of possibities would get loooooong. Dolphin has native wiimote support and native GCpad support, and emulated gamecube controller and emulator wiimote support to handle everything else.

Just a little bit of a pointer if you got one. I have had mine now for the last couple weeks and the gyros are by FAR 1000 times better than a real Wii remote even if you take the motion plus like in skyward sword into account. It is a tad annoying to set up but it works just fine and is quite enjoyable. If anyone has any issue specific to the steam controller I can help out if I can cuz it can be a bit fiddly. Steam controller forum people are PMing me for help with Dolphin, it's not hard in the slightest BTW, so I can help if anyone needs some tips to get Big Picture working smoothly. Also, if you use the steam link aswell ull need to render to main for video to show. Now dolphin really is a Wii replacement 100% even if ur pc is in the den. Not a bad deal, quite enjoyable really.
