Mario Sunshine random lag - Wamphyri - 08-21-2015 I am trying to play SMS but am having quite a lot of slowdown while talking to NPC's, screen transitions, and even randomly for seemingly no reason at all. I will leave the game idle without moving for 20 seconds and the emulator speed will drop to 80% but right when I open the graphics config menu the speed will go back to 100% for about 30 seconds. I have the graphics and sound set up as the wiki states and AA turned off. What could the problem be? i7 4790K gtx 780 8gb ram Win 10 Thanks RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - ExtremeDude2 - 08-21-2015 What dolphin version are you using? RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - Wamphyri - 08-21-2015 Version 4.0-7184 RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - JMC47 - 08-21-2015 It could be perf queries + subtitles or something? RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - Wamphyri - 08-21-2015 Well, I think I figured out the problem. It seems that turning the internal resolution down from 4x to 3x fixed the frame drops. Doesn't that seem odd though considering it runs full speed majority of the time except during certain screen transitions, talking to npc's and even just the random nature of the drops? I also wouldn't have expected it to be such a simple fix considering I have played Mario Galaxy, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess at 4x resolution with no problems. Am I right to assume this is likely a version problem for this specific game and not a hardware problem? RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - KHg8m3r - 08-22-2015 Under the Nvidia Control Panel, do you have Dolphin set to use High performance mode? RE: Mario Sunshine random lag - Wamphyri - 08-22-2015 Switching to high performance seems to have fixed it as well. I guess when I installed the new drivers with Win10 that setting got switched off. Thanks a lot! |
