Will SaveGames Work Across Dolphin Platforms (Mac vs Windows) - daudi81 - 08-18-2015

I use a mac as my laptop and have dolphin on it. I also use it on my windows machine at home.

For example, if I'm playing xenoblade chronicles on my mac while traveling, and I want to then pick it up and play it on my windows PC at home. Can I save the game on my mac, then transfer that save file to my windows PC when I want to play it at home - and it will resume as a normal save file?

Thx

Regular save data works great when moved between different Dolphin versions, and even when moved to a real console.

If you're using savestates instead, I think you can move between different operating systems, but you won't be able to move between different Dolphin versions unless they're very close to each other. Savestates aren't always stable either, so I don't recommend using them unless you have a specific reason to.

Save states can be used cross platform. I do this regularly. Smile
