Unable to connect Wiimote to Dolphin with nearby Wii console on - InevitablEnd - 08-10-2015 My brother recently got a Wii and I've been testing to see if the Wiimote connects to my computer using Bluetooth. I press the 1+2 on the Wiimote and Refresh on Dolphin, drivers install, and the Wiimote connects okay. Usually it takes awhile for the drivers to install though, sometimes needing to re-press the 1+2 buttons for Dolphin to fully connect since the controller would turn off by itself when there's no connection for awhile. However, if my brother has the Wii console on, the controller will immediately connect to that instead of my computer, even if I press the 1+2 on the WiiMote and Refresh on Dolphin at the same time. The drivers prepare to install, so it's detecting the Wiimote, but the controller has already connected to the console so it doesn't complete. Is there any way to somehow set the priority of the remote to my computer, or desync it from the console if that particular remote is to be used specifically for Dolphin? Or would I need him to turn off his console every time I want to use the Wiimote with my computer? I usually use Dolphin 3.0, but have also tried it on 4.0-7157. The latest dev builds are faster AND more accurate! ...but anyway, with the MS Bluetooth stack the wiimotes do not "sync" with the computer, and so they are still technically paired to the Wii. 1+2 is a "quick pair" shortcut the wiimotes for like, say, you bring a wiimote to a friend's house? To really sync, you'd need a DolphinBar. RE: Unable to connect Wiimote to Dolphin with nearby Wii console on - InevitablEnd - 08-10-2015 Quote:0_0 why the heck would you use Dolphin 3.0! The latest dev builds are faster AND more accurate! My brother uses my desktop to play Project M (a mod of Super Smash Bro. Brawl), so he uses the latest version there. I play on an old-ish i3 laptop with integrated Intel graphics, and since Dolphin 3.0 has support for Direct3D9, it has lower video quality in comparison to D3D11, but also makes performance a bit better by about 5-15 fps. Since most Gamecube/Wii games runs at around 30fps, that's a big difference. My laptop also has built-in Bluetooth, which is where I'm testing the Wiimote until I get a USB dongle (or Dolphinbar) for my desktop. Either way, it seems like the only way to connect the Wiimote to the computer is to do it while the console is off. After it's connected, it doesn't seem to matter whether or not the console is on or off. Well... if you need D3D9 because of your old machine, Ishiiruka adds D3D9 to current versions of Dolphin, along with a few other nice toys. The latest development builds are faster and a little more accurate on modern machines, but on older ones like yours it could really help you, and it would certainly be better than Dolphin 3.0! Just be careful, Ishiiruka has a lot of advanced settings in it. Also, if you have any questions about it or need support, you'll need to ask it in that thread. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that build. Since I had noticed most builds had removed D3D9 support after Dolphin 3, I had stuck with the version I had. RE: Unable to connect Wiimote to Dolphin with nearby Wii console on - MayImilae - 08-13-2015 3.5 and 4.0.2 both have D3D9. RE: Unable to connect Wiimote to Dolphin with nearby Wii console on - Helios - 08-14-2015 OGL works too... |
