Wii Game Titles Dolphin - larsenv - 08-06-2015 Hi. I noticed in the latest development build of Dolphin Emulator that the game titles were different. For example, it now calls the Kirby 20th Anniversary game "Kirby 20th Ann. Disc". Where are these titles coming from? Did something change in Dolphin Emulator? Also, is it possible to just download the titles from GameTDB? That's where I'd usually get the titles, plus I like it better since it's faster to download all of the titles from the titles.txt... Thanks. EDIT: I see it's just getting the company codes... Why? It's conflicting with my Mario & Sonic games: http://puu.sh/jqZuS/3cdf3eb7b6.png RE: Wii Game Titles Dolphin - JMC47 - 08-06-2015 You can use the titles.txt if you want, Dolphin will detect it and use it. All the game titles come from the discs themselves and what they report themselves as. Dolphin used to pull data from Wii game saves, but now they are read from discs instead. This prevents problems with inconsistency related to having save data or not, and also prevents save data descriptions like "Save Data" from being used as the descriptions of games. It's conflicting with my Mario & Sonic games: http://puu.sh/jqZuS/3cdf3eb7b6.png Because Wii game discs only contain the company code, not the company name. Additionally, Dolphin doesn't have a way to specify custom company names like you can with titles with titles.txt. In the folder where the Dolphin configuration is stored (I'm not sure where it is on OS X), there should be a folder named Load. Put titles.txt in there. |
