Input Recording + Gecko OS - Kurausukun - 08-02-2015 I wanted to record something from Project M, so I set my Gecko OS wad to fake-completion mode and started input recording. However, when I got to Gecko's menu, it bugged me about the proper IOS not being installed and refused to work. I figured it was something to do with fake-completion, but when I tried again without recording input, it worked fine. Why can't I record input on Gecko OS? There's no other way to boot Project M on Dolphin at the moment. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - mimimi - 08-02-2015 Then either install all IOS to your virtual nand. Or make a complete backup of your Wii's nand and put it into Dolphin's folder. Well that is if the displayed error is the actual error. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - Kurausukun - 08-02-2015 I'm sorry, I don't exactly know what you mean by "virtual nand." All I've ever needed to do is tools>install wad, and install the proper IOS. I've already done that for the one this game needs. Again, Gecko OS works normally, but when I try to do a recording, it says the game requires IOS36 v1042, which I have installed already. It asks if I want to install it, and if I say yes, it says that it failed to unpack the wad files with a return value of 4. Obviously, hitting no boots me back to Gecko's main menu. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - Kurausukun - 08-02-2015 No, that's the netplay ISO, which is NOT the full game. Also, the problem seems to be deeper--when I record, Dolphin acts as if I have no saves whatsoever. Oh gotcha, I'm still living in the past where 3.6 beta isn't a thing :l RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - JosJuice - 08-02-2015 (08-02-2015, 06:38 PM)Kurausukun Wrote: Also, the problem seems to be deeper--when I record, Dolphin acts as if I have no saves whatsoever. There was a recent change that made Dolphin treat the NAND as empty when using netplay. It wouldn't surprise me if the same applied to input recording. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - mimimi - 08-02-2015 Ok, in this case: Does NeoGamma work? It should be able to play project m the same way as gecko os, but it might not bug you about IOS that much. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - Kurausukun - 08-02-2015 I don't know how to boot NeoGamma on Dolphin; it just crashes when I select the .dol. But either way, there's no point if my NAND is empty while recording. If I requested that it was kept intact for recording (not for netplay), would my request be falling on deaf ears? I mean, I could start recording after the game has loaded the NAND, but there are still issues with that. RE: Input Recording + Gecko OS - JosJuice - 08-02-2015 Perhaps there should be an option to select whether you want an empty NAND? I know that some TASers have requested the ability to automatically not have any save files when starting recording. |
