Google+ Leaving YouTube - Thoughts or Opinions? - Red Buzzy Beetle - 07-30-2015
For those that may not already have read about it from a few days ago, Google is now planning to split Google+ and YouTube apart once again, presumably in part due to unhappy YouTube users' complaints among other things. What are your personal thoughts on this change? Are you glad for it? Not so glad? Or perhaps you don't really care on way or another. Post your thoughts here, and don't forget to vote using the poll above if you want to!
For those wondering, my thoughts (and vote) are that I don't really care too much, since I only use YouTube to watch videos, and nothing much more.

I meant more the users of YouTube who saw Google+ integration as a forced transition sort of thing.

. I didn't really care about the integration, because I never really noticed it to be honest. I just hope the comment layout stays the same, it has not been this organized in years. I also hope the bell notification stays, it was a quick way to see replies to your comments.

I've not looked at it in detail, but I thought it was just that you had the option to separate your YouTube and G+ profiles instead of a total split.

I actually don't mind the integration at its present state. I'm not using G+, they're not making me use it, I still have an anonymous username, etc.
In the past, I refused to use G+ comments, because they forced me to use my Google account name. Then I discovered I could create a page, set it as my channel, and comment (anonymously) under a username/page. So I'm fine.
A lingering problem... Several years ago, (probably me) I took the Youtube username of jimbo1qaz , I don't remember the password (or the account was locked/deleted) (or someone changed the password but did nothing on my account), and Youtube refuses to reclaim the username even though their help site says that unused accounts can be reclaimed into the username pool.
That's the same reason I don't like W8 Microsoft accounts. I can't login under a username, I have to use an email address to log in. Even if I convert a local account to keep a good C:\users\name, I still want my actual username.

and technically, it has alot of users since every google account has a g+. and since android has google account integration...
also, i support this change. it had its advantages on android with the youtube app, but thats it.
the random shit, comments only viewable on G+ etc etc was horrible. let alone that some ppl, like me or im guessing famous youtubers, would rather split their youtube account from their actual google account.

Google+ is such a great idea with such terrible timing. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter have already established themselves as the social media market overlords, Google just doesn't stand a chance with an entire culture revolving around those 3 platforms
