Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - raziel784 - 08-30-2009 I'm trying to use version 3661 on XP Pro. I tried multiple games to make sure it wasn't game specific. When I try to open a game a popup appears saying: Can't create opengl renderer. You might be missing some required opengl extensions, check the logs for more info. (I can't the find logs) When I click OK another popup appears saying: Application error The instruction at "0x7c9118d0" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written". Click OK to terminate Obviously it closes when I click it. Whats wrong? RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - krypking - 08-30-2009 what gfx card do u have? RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - Diddy Kong - 08-30-2009 Update your outdated GPU unless your on integrated litter. It's older I know. I run a PSX emulator no problem so I didn't a think gamecube emulator would be difficult. Can I fix it? That happens to be Worse than integrated litter ![]() Stick to the Wii/GC Or use a Simulator. RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - darkshadw - 08-31-2009 just buy a newer vid-card or update the drivers RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - Xtreme2damax - 08-31-2009 LOL he can't even use the DX9 plugin either, the MX line of cards lack any kind of shader support. Upgrading drivers won't help in his case, he needs a new more recent video card and likely new hardware. I'm willing to bet his CPU isn't adequate for Dolphin either. It helps to read the requirements, if you are unable to run any PC game from the last 3 - 5 years, you can bet your sweet pumpkin pie you won't be able run PS2 or Gamecube/Wii emulators. PS2 and Gamecube/Wii emulators such as PCSX2 or Dolphin require much more raw power than SNES, PSX, N64, Sega emulation. Even some N64 games can bring fairly powerful systems to their knees. Even if it was possible that you could play with that ancient hardware, you'd barely get 1 FPS if you are lucky. Dreamcast, PS2, and Gamecube/Wii emulation just isn't possible on your hardware. The MX line of cards were never adequate for anything, even when they were brand new and just introduced to the market. It has trouble playing PC games from 2001/2003 so that should at least tell you something. It helps to read the requirements to see if it'll run on your machine before wasting your time: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-4.html You need a new system with decent hardware, avoid anything with Intel graphics and go for Core2Duo/Quad/i7 and Nvidia 7xxx line of cards or newer should be sufficient. The cheapest you can build a new system is between 600 - $1000 which should be sufficient for Dolphin. The cheapest solution in the end would be to play an original copy of the game you intend to play on an actual Gamecube/Wii.

Oh wellI can atleast run ePSXe and project64 w/o error. I have a vista pc but it barely starts the game on Dolphin before it "has to close". The popup made me think it was an error because it ask if I wanted to look online for a solution (I hope you know what pop-up I'm talking about). I learned that windows itself wouldn't let it run(DEP). I tried to put it on the exception list but it said DEP must be on for this program. By the way Vista sucks and 7 probably isn't any betterWell thanks for the information, it did help. RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - THELUKESTIR - 09-01-2009 xp is fine, vista is fine, 7 is fine. If you don't know how to do something, ask instead of blaming the operating system RE: Run Error - Dolohin 3661 - Xtreme2damax - 09-01-2009 I just realized I repeated myself twice in my last post. Don't blame the operating system for the faults of the hardware, third party drivers, and software. That is one of the reasons Vista got such a bad reputation despite it working fine for mostly anyone with decent hardware. Windows 7 has been optimized greatly and it's performance is on par with or greater than XP. I'm using Windows 7, it's fast, stable, responsive, and packed with new features. It has been proven that Windows 7 even runs decently on older hardware, one person tested on a Pentium III 1.4 Ghz, 672 MB of ram, and a Radeon 9500 Pro: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,22364528 Simply put your hardware is just not adequate to emulate complex systems such as the PS2, GC/Wii, and Dreamcast and can not play any PC games made within the last 3 - 5 years. |
