WiiMote Plus suddenly acting all weird. - Dolphinish - 12-10-2014 Hi to all! I'm a little frustrated at the moment and half of it has to do with dolphin, the other with Nintendo. Ah Nintendo, they make games that make you mad sometimes, but they rarely allow you to let off some stem as their games are so neat and... Anyway, before I digress, here's what the issue is: I was playing some Mario Galaxy 2, and of course since I want HD, I played on Dolphin. I have the latest WiiMotes Plus and I also own a Dolphin bar. So in order to understand my problem you have to consider the fact that I have already collected 120 stars in MG, nothing wrong so far. So today I wanted to start with Luigi. The WiiMote connects to the Dolphin bar, all the buttons are working but the pointer doesn't work.. like at all. Only if I'm like 20 cm away from it. If I move any further, I get the hint to point the WiiMote on the TV screen. My setup hasn't changed, its the same couch from where I was pointing the WiiMote before. Now it doesn't work anymore. First I blamed the Dolphin bar, thought it might be the LEDs inside that wore off, but I tried candle lites and even the original sensor bar from my Wii U. And here's the weird thing. I unsynced the WiiMote from Dolphin bar and synced the exact same unit to the Wii U, but I used the Dolphin bar as sensor bar, disconnected the original one from the Wii U. Worked fine. Is that understandable? The meaning of all my testing is now, that the LEDs are not broken since they do work as normal sensorbar on the Wii U, the Dolphin bar is not broken because the button inputs work perfectls, for exapmple in Donkey Kong Country Returns, I don't have any issues. But in SMG I can't collect starbits because of this particular funktion seems broken, regardless of what infraredlight source I use, candle, dolphin bar or original sensorbar. So it must be a software issue. But what could it be? How can this be resolved? Thanks in advance! RE: WiiMote Plus suddenly acting all weird. - KHg8m3r - 12-10-2014 I'm not 100% sure, but have you touched the EFB to CPU setting in the Graphics tab? I seem to remember that it needs to be either on or off to get the star bits..... Also, go grab the latest dev build, as it has a whole slew of speed enhancements and stability fixes. RE: WiiMote Plus suddenly acting all weird. - Dolphinish - 12-10-2014 I think you misunderstand. It's not that I can't collect the star bits, its the feature of the wiimote to be used as a pointer. I mean this: you point the wiimote at the TV and some pointer (depending on the game of course) moves as you direct it. In order for that to work you need a sensorbar. That particular feature of my wiimote in combination with the dolphin bar does not work anymore, but when I use the dolphin bar as a sensor bar at a real Wii U, it works. From that I drew the conclusion that the LEDs are not broken, neither is the wiimote. The other buttons and the shaking the wiimote thing work too. Its just that one thing that does not work. RE: WiiMote Plus suddenly acting all weird. - KHg8m3r - 12-10-2014 So can you not use the pointer in any game, or just MG? And did the latest dev build fix the issue? RE: WiiMote Plus suddenly acting all weird. - Dolphinish - 12-10-2014 I tried it in Mario and Sonic Wintergames, it didn't work there neither. I upgraded to the latest build, dolphin-master-4.0-4565, it didn't work. I downgraded back, it didn't work. So strange, yesterday it was working perfectly. I took a picture (long time exposure) of the Dolphin bar, it looks like this : | oooo--B.------------------B----•••• | ' o ' is off, even though I can see LED lamps through the plastic, B. is the blue LED for sync, B is the LED for Mode and • are the LEDs that are actually on. I exposed for 15 seconds and compared it to the original Sensor bar. So if any it is brighter. I also have a bluethooth dongle in my pc for Wireless soundsticks, they are fairly new, do you think that could be the issue? I turned them off and it didn't change anything, though... really, I have no idea... |
