Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - Emerald-Dripplings - 12-04-2014 I've seen numerous videos where the game runs perfectly on older computers and really am hoping it will actually work on mine. I've fiddled with the configuration several times over and the highest results I got were 15fps. Forcing 20fps works okay but quickly drops back to 15, or even 10! Maybe someone can tell me what's going on after they read my specs. Dolphin: 4.02 Game: Twilight Princess(Gamecube) Computer Specs: Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU N2830 @ 2.16GHz RAM: 4.00 64bit, x64 based processor I'd like to try and get great speed and performance, full 30fps, with the medium to high graphics. I'm not really keen on the idea of overclocking my computer, but if need be, I'd like to see if that can work. If all of the above is simply impossible, please let me know. Or if there isn't enough spec information to provide an answer. (Also my first thread(yay) I don't there are any rules broken here.) RE: Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - AnyOldName3 - 12-04-2014 Use the latest dev revision, as 4.0.2 is pretty old at this point and so is less accurate and much, much slower. RE: Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - KHg8m3r - 12-04-2014 Your CPU is really slow, and TP is one of the more demanding games. First off, update to the latest dev build from here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ It's way faster than the stable 4.0.2 build. Secondly, right click on TP, go to properties, and under the patches tab enable to Hyrule field patch. Thirdly, I don't think you'll be able to get fullspeed all the time, but it should be better than 15 fps. Finally, I don't think you'll be able to increase the graphics very much, maybe only to the next setting past default for IR/AA/AF RE: Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - Emerald-Dripplings - 12-04-2014 @AnyOldName3 and @KHg8m3r Thank you both! I'll certainly try out these suggestions. 4.02 was the first download link offered on site, didn't know any better. While I'm not in front of my computer atm, and won't be for a couple hours, I'll try these out when I can, and let you know the results. So it's impossible for you to get decent frame rate RE: Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - Emerald-Dripplings - 12-04-2014 (12-04-2014, 02:53 PM)admin89 Wrote:Quote:I'd like to try and get great speed and performance, full 30fps, with the medium to high graphics. You will need a 1000$ gaming laptop to do that Ah, thank you, I understand. c: If anything, the result of the other dolphin emulator left the game trying to run in G-Major. (laughs) I'll keep trying to find some way around it, if nothing else, just save up a little more money for the actual console. Thank you all for responding and trying to help, I really appreciate it. Otherwise, happy emulating! (laughs) There's always this refurb mini Wii (with Mario Kart) for $65.. https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/productDetailColorSizePicker.jsp?productId=prod400035 All the prices I found on Amazon and such were horrid: well over $200, even $400 for a select few RE: Can my HP Notebook run Twilight Princess at 30fps? - evilmarin - 07-26-2019 I'm having the same problem. At 2.4GHz dual core, I should have more than enough beef to run this game, considering the gamecube hardware is about 2003. I've had significant slowdown in faron woods and hyrule field, otherwise sometimes i get 30fps. But I think this is due to the emulator, not the hardware. Isn't there a way to recompile the JIT ahead of time, or make approx calculations on lighting effects? I should be able to play this at 30fps.
