Using Dolphin with a Wii U Sensor Bar - Feyla - 12-02-2014

Hi,

I have a Wii U and I've just tried to use Dolphin with the sensor bar, rather than having a separate wireless sensor bar just for Dolphin.

You need 2 Wii Remotes and it works if you do the following: Connect Wii Remote 1 to the PC, turn on Wii U, connect Wii Remote 2 to Wii U (this enables the sensor bar, otherwise it's off).

Then I can use the Wii U sensor bar with Dolphin, the only problem is that Wii Remote 2, connected to the Wii U automatically disconnected after 5 mins or so of inactivity, which also disables the sensor bar.

Is there any way I can force the Wii Remote to stay connected to the Wii U? Or any other ideas to make this work better? I would rather not have 2 sensor bars above my TV, seems silly.

Not strictly a Dolphin question I suppose, but any help would be appreciated :p

Thanks!

I do believe previous users have reported some success on the Wii U by going into the Wii mode and letting it sit on that home screen. Give it a try?

*too lazy to look it up*

Just tried, seems to work thanks. The Wii remote still disconnects due to inactivity, but the sensor bar stays active since the Wii U is in the Wii menu.
