What does VPS stand for? - karasuhebi - 11-11-2014 Based on some searches I did here on the forums, I believe I have a basic understanding of what VPS is as a measurement in emulators such as Dolphin. I'd still like to know what it stands for though. Virtual frames per second? Video card frames per second? Values per second? Thanks in advance! P.S. If someone would like to eloquently and in detail explain what VPS is in comparison and as opposed to FPS, that would be great too. I want to make sure I'm understanding the concept correctly. For example if I'm running a game at 2xspeed, would I expect to see the VPS go to 120 or would I expect the FPS to go to 60 or 120? (depending on the game's native FPS) RE: What does VPS stand for? - RachelB - 11-11-2014 Vertical interrupts per second. Basically this is always 60 hz at 100% speed, in contrast to fps, which can be anywhere from 0 to 60 at 100% speed, depending on how fast the game is rendering frames (lag and such can cause it to render fewer frames than usual). RE: What does VPS stand for? - karasuhebi - 11-11-2014 Ah, I see. I was way off on those guesses then haha. Thank you very much for you reply. And keep up the good work!
