Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - Mexiun - 11-04-2014 Hello, i've been searching all over the place for fps fixes with the config in Dolphin, i've managed to make the game run smoother, but whenever i open a door or shoot my game goes choppy for a second. I've been stressing out for 30 minutes now trying to change every config and restarting the game over and over again but it doesnt work. Now i can play Wario World perfectly on the emulator, but Metroid Prime is slightly lagging. My specs: Windows 7 Processor: Inter ® Core i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz Installed RAM: 8,00 GB Type: 64 bits Now im not sure if this is all i need to post, i also have the newest Nvidia installed and the newest (today) Dolphin. Thanks. RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - natnint4000 - 11-04-2014 Its probably from the shader cache try playing it for a while using the dolphin build you are using to see if the lagging stops RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - Mexiun - 11-05-2014 (11-04-2014, 11:59 PM)natnint4000 Wrote: Its probably from the shader cache try playing it for a while using the dolphin build you are using to see if the lagging stops Thanks, but i have the dutch translation and i cant seem to find anything related to Shadow Cache (no idea what Cache in dutch means). Where can i find this, in the Hacks menu? RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - natnint4000 - 11-05-2014 Its not something you will find in dolphin or any games menu its just something that the dolphin emulator does on its own its an internal thing, as the shader cache builds up from repeatedly playing the game. You should eventually get less lags RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - KHg8m3r - 11-05-2014 Did you try switching to D3D? RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - Mexiun - 11-05-2014 I see, the Shadow Cache is pretty handy then. And sorry whats a D3D? Im very new to these emulators, im used to the Nes, Gba and Snes emulator since i was a teenager, not the Gamecube/Wii ones. RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - Growlith1223 - 11-05-2014 D3D = Direct3D, you should have it in the Graphics settings, first tab, very top option, You'll have OpenGL, Direct3D, and SoftwareRender. Choose Direct3D. Keep in mind though, Metroid Prime is a pretty intense game, even on an i5 at 3.4GHz, i have my 4690k oced to 4.7Ghz and it runs perfectly fine but since you have the locked version, you can't do anything about that lol. I would try and lower some settings, maybe minimize background work? RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - Mexiun - 11-05-2014 I got the Direct3D on, everyting is low and i only toggled on the stuff that increases performance. And the only things i have working in the background are skype, windows mediaplayer (music toggled off when gaming) and chrome. RE: Metroid Prime fps problem, my specs. - NaturalViolence - 11-06-2014 What you're describing is normal. Metroid prime games only load the next room when you shoot the door. This causes dolphin to stutter a bit until the loading finishes. |
