Improve layout and decrease size of post container - Xtreme2damax - 09-29-2014

At the moment the post container is rather wide and words don't wrap to the next line until the end of the post container. This gives the illusion of text dragging on making posts seem longer than what they are. Don't reduce the post container by much or have word wrap kick in too soon else posts would easily become walls of text. With a few members now hemming and hawing about my posts being tl;dr walls of text (they're not) and dragging on I thought I'd bring this to attention to appease those with low patience thresholds that are easily annoyed. Apparently this place transformed into Spuf-emu where members either can't read or be arsed to read a few short sentences and paragraphs without screaming tl;dr!

- The quick and new reply lacks any editor functions. The editor and bbcodes are completely missing, please fix this.

I'm tired of being singled out and lambasted and I'm not the only or worst "offender", just the only one accused so far.

I got a wide screen and want all of it to be used, so don't change that to a centered-column-layout please :|

Quick reply is for replying quickly, I'm fine with it being just a text box. Altho I thought you could switch that between simple and WYSIWYG mode in your settings...apparently not here.

Well the layout can scale for wide screens. The post container is the offender because it's wide making text appear to drag on until wrapping to the next line. If the post container is made too small and word wrap occurs to soon posts would easily become walls of text. Not sure of what compromise would work. I'm probably better off just ignoring those complaining about my posts, can't make or keep everyone happy.

Nothing wrong with talking about it, I'm just one of the guys that has a widescreen to have it used; not to have some pretty background image left and right.
Maybe we could get another style up and running which every user can choose from.

Actually what I'm most concerned about now is just restoring the editor function w/ bbcodes for new replies. Quick reply is fine as is but I believe there is/was a mod for advanced quick reply with the editor and bbcodes. Sometimes it's a pain trying to figure out the correct bbcodes.

Reviving this to suggest for possible tl;dr content can we get collapsable quote boxes? That way I can plug anything that's possibly tl;dr into a quote and put a disclaimer in front of it?

Isn't the spoiler box exactly what you're asking for?

RE: Improve layout and decrease size of post container - Xtreme2damax - 10-13-2014

Well I feel like an idiot.. I posted this because I believe I tried using the spoiler bbcode in the past and it didn't work. Anyways that's why I've been stressing to fix the editor so members know what bbcodes are available and make using bbcodes easier. I've tried posting Youtube videos in the past and couldn't figure out the bbcode, doing it from the editor would've been easier than fumbling around for the proper bbcode.
