Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! Help :c - Rasral - 09-17-2014 Hello! So i looked on the wiki and saw that Eternal Darkness is playable! I ripped my ISO and tried to run it. Firstly, after the Edgar Allan Poe quote, it goes black screen but i can skip that by mashing start + A. I hear pings and clicks so i assume the main menu loads but doesnt load visually :/ Anyway i get into new game and its running well, 60fps, 4x native res ect ect. However...theres no subtitles. In fact theres no text at ALL. I click on doors and where it hould say "This door is locked" i get nothing...just a camera zoom in on the door and i have to B out. If i press Sstart the pause menu opens, but the controller randomly cuts out and refuses to work. After 2-3 minutes it'll randomly work again if i mash start to exist the pause screen. But then im back in the main game...with no text. I inspect a desk and instead of telling me whats on it...it just zooms in with no text :/ The controller issue and the lack of any text hasnt been mentioned on the Wiki so i dont know whats going on. My specs are: AMD Fx 8350 OC 4.5Ghz GTX770 OC 8GB Ram Windows 7 Home Premium I'm running the latest dev build of dolphin at this time (4.0-3249). I tried downgrading and saw no difference to the bugs. my settings are...normal tbh. OpenGL, LLE audio, 4x native res, 16AF ect. Ive tried going complete default and still no text. The controller bug makes the game unplayable too since i cant access inventory. Any ideas what this could be? RE: Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! Help :c - KHg8m3r - 09-17-2014 Try setting the texture cache to safe, or D3D background RE: Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! Help :c - Link_to_the_past - 09-17-2014 Use d3d for the time being, it is a known issue and devs are looking for a proper fix or try the old projection hack that got removed by adding in the gameini: [Video] ProjectionHack = 1 PH_ZNear = 5 PH_ZFar = 0.15 RE: Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! Help :c - Rasral - 09-17-2014 Thanks a lot guys, going to D3D works. i wish i could use OpenGL since, for some reason, its a 10-15fps speed up in ALL my games. I thought D3D was meant to be faster but its a lot slower for me :/ Having said that, Eternal Darkness still runs at "mostly" 60 with some stutters as it loads new levels. I'll keep it on OpenGL normally and set D3D in the Gameini for the time being. Loving the game so far, it's very...unique In a good way

It was enabled by default with dolphin 4.0 and it works fine. RE: Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! Help :c - xystus - 09-17-2014 Thanks for the .ini settings. Are there any advantages using D3D over OpenGL, even when using the projection hack? RE: Eternal Darkness bugs not on Wiki! The wiki says there are some missing effects in D3D mode, so openGL with project hack should be great. https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-gc-eternal-darkness--25938 |
