Hotkeys Settings - Achor81 - 08-30-2014

I am just wondering if it possible to use buttons from controller to configure them as Hotkeys?
I tried to configure save/load hotkeys using an xbox controller but it is not working.
It would be great to add such support.

Thanks,

There are no plans to add those to Dolphin as of yet from the main dev team. But anyone that can program and can implement this nicely into Dolphin can submit a patch and have it looked at and it might get added or not.

But for now you'll have to use third-party software to achieve this.
We had a short discussion on this in the Feature Request thread yesterday so I'll quote Nintendo Maniac 64 that summarized some software that you can use to map keyboard keys (and combos) to your controller.

Joy2Key (requires compiling, works on linux)
Xpadder (only old versions are free, new versions have no trial)
Pinnacle Game Profiler (has a legit free trial version, is pay-for software, not portable)

And in "no plans", we mean that we have no idea how to implement that properly in a generic way that doesn't half work (for example, hotkeys on wiimote/classic controller are a pain). Well, we have some idea, but not enough to start working on an implementation.

Many thanks Garteal and Delroth for your replies.
I will try the third party softwares.

Kind regards,
