CTGP Revolution Problems - LukusAurelius - 07-25-2014 I want to get CTGP Revolution working on Dolphin, but I am running into some problems. I loaded the CTGP-R files into a 2 GB sd.raw in the correct directory. I then tried to launch both runnable files from the download (the boot.elf in root and the boot.dol in apps\ctgpr), but dolphin crashes whenever I launch either of them. I do have MKWii set as my default ISO. Am I doing something wrong, or does CTGP-R not work on Dolphin? CTGP-R version used: 1.03 (latest) Dolphin version used: 4.0-2246 x64 OS: Windows 7 64 bit CPU: AMD FX-6300 @ 3.515 GHz GPU: AMD R9 280x RAM: 8 GB @ 1866 MHz CAS 10 If you need more info, please ask! -Lukus RE: CTGP Revolution Problems - Qaazavaca Qaanic - 07-25-2014 The creators of CTGPR see themselves as the enforcers of the copyright monopoly, so they attempt to restrict the physical property rights of the general public in order to help Nintendo maintain a monopoly on the distribution of information. In other words, Chadderz has a brain of cheddar cheese, and MrBean is a beanhead. In other words, the creators intentionally made it incompatible with Dolphin, last time I checked. Actually, during their twitch streams they have said the main reason for that was to prevent cheaters

But still, why do that? If there is a cheater, leave the server! All I (and many other people) want to do is play the game and have it look beautiful. I wish they would let us play CTGP-R. RE: CTGP Revolution Problems - Qaazavaca Qaanic - 07-26-2014 I call bullshit on the "reducing cheaters" claim. Take a standard Mario Kart, add CTGP-PATCH old version, replace all tracks with a test track of some sort, fill up all slots. Change the region to CTGP region. Connect to WiFi and use lightning bolts, POWs, and disconnect codes. Blue shells will work if your physical location on the test track is sufficiently close to the other players. Red shells may work if you are close to the other players and above. Everything else won't work. I honestly want someone to try it out. Maybe threaten Cheddarbrain and Beanhead to release it unless they develop a USB loading solution. I think they could use the same encrypted blob solution but adapt it to USB, and checksum all the game files to ensure people aren't modifying the game files directly to like increase their speed or "always have item" directly within the DOL. That would be a solution for people who don't cheat. Checksums are small. On the other hand, they support hierarchicalism and corporate copyright monopolies and prefer profit over freedom, so they likely won't bother making something like that. More on topic, older versions of the installer work, but the newest DOL just crashes, likely intentionally. RE: CTGP Revolution Problems - Qaazavaca Qaanic - 07-27-2014 Nobody plays 1.02 online. Wiimms MKF is more up-to-date and has Dolphin support (but the menu is completely bugged on JIT and somewhat bugged on JITIL), but very few people play it online. Anyway, Wiimmfi is adding cheat protection in the form of monitoring the messages sent by players and automatically banning anyone who seems to be acting weird, so I think the solution I stated will not work completely fine. RE: CTGP Revolution Problems - delroth - 07-27-2014 Hey, not being happy about a free product that modders put their time and love into gives you exactly one right: shutting up about it. Definitely not insulting mod authors and calling them names because you don't agree with their ethical stance. I'm not saying I agree either, but that's their choice to make, and as a user you have to respect it. RE: CTGP Revolution Problems - LukusAurelius - 07-27-2014 Would you please link me to MKF?
