Normal temperature or should I check for something? - linker357 - 07-23-2014 Hello everyone again, so yesterday I just moved to another city, I used to live in a hot city and just now I moved to a cold one. I just installed my pc and when I go to check the CPU temperature it oscillates between 18-20C whereas before it used to be around 25-30 (idle). Since the cpu temp can not go beyond room temperature (and temperature here right now is around 66F which is 18C) could it really be that my cooler is keeping it at the lowest possible temperature or should I check my MOBO sensor? My cooler is a Thermaltake Frio OCK with 4 other chassis fans. Don't know if this belongs in the hardware section so feel free to move it if need be. RE: Normal temperature or should I check for something? - WGI-M - 07-23-2014 Correct me if I'm wrong.. but normally your CPU temperature reflects what the external temperature is. In cooler areas, it'll be lower. In hotter, more insulated areas it'll be warmer. RE: Normal temperature or should I check for something? - yl-smash - 07-24-2014 What temp monitoring program are you using? That's pretty low if that's accurate. Most people get ~30 C idle on air. RE: Normal temperature or should I check for something? - linker357 - 07-24-2014 AI Suite and, well, I do live in a cold city with an aftermarket cooler and 4 other chassis fans RE: Normal temperature or should I check for something? - yl-smash - 07-24-2014 Try a different program like CoreTemp or HWMonitor and see if you get the same results. Most aftermarket coolers on air don't get that low is the thing, even in a cold city (66 F isn't that cold). Chassis fans don't make a big impact on CPU temp. |
